PRIVACY POLICY

This policy explains what information gam3r.co.za collects, why, and how it's handled — in plain language, and in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Who We Are

GAM3RZA (gam3r.co.za) is a personal gaming content website operated by Jacques, based in South Africa. For any privacy questions or requests, contact business@gam3r.co.za.

Information We Collect

This site is intentionally simple. It does not run analytics or advertising trackers, and it has no sign-up forms, comment sections or accounts, so it does not collect names, email addresses or other personal details from visitors.

The only data handled locally in your browser is:

  • Theme preference — if you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage so it's remembered on your next visit. It never leaves your device.
  • Standard server logs — like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical information (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and performance purposes. These logs are not used for tracking or profiling.

Embedded Third-Party Content

Some pages embed or link to content from other platforms. When you interact with these, the third party's own privacy policy applies — we don't control what they collect:

  • YouTube — the Videos page embeds a YouTube video player and pulls upload data via YouTube's API. Loading or playing an embedded video may set cookies from Google/YouTube. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Twitch — the Streams page checks live status via Twitch's API and links out to our Twitch channel. See Twitch's Privacy Notice.
  • Google Fonts — this site loads the Orbitron and Inter typefaces from Google Fonts' servers, which involves your browser making a request to Google. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Cookies

We don't set any first-party tracking or advertising cookies ourselves. The theme preference mentioned above uses local storage, not a cookie, and is purely functional. Embedded YouTube content may set its own cookies once you play a video, as described above.

Your Rights Under POPIA

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act, you have the right to know what personal information is held about you, request correction or deletion of it, and object to its processing. Since this site does not collect or store personal information from visitors, there is typically nothing on file to request — but if you believe otherwise, or have any question about this policy, email business@gam3r.co.za and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18.

Changes to This Policy

If what this site collects or how it's handled ever changes — for example, if analytics or a newsletter sign-up is added in future — this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will reflect that.
